George Scott smashed two homers and Jim Colborn pitched a six-hitter as the Brewers defeated the Red Sox, 8-3, for their 10th straight victory and 15th in their last 16 games. After the Red Sox took a 2-0 lead in the second, the Brewers bounced back with four runs on only two hits in the third. A walk, single by Pedro Garcia, error by Ray Culp and sacrifice fly tied the score before Scott hit a two-run homer to put the Brewers ahead.

The Brewers then walked their way to three runs in the sixth when Don Newhauser passed Garcia, Tim Johnson and Don Money with the bases loaded. Scott added his second homer of the game in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
