. . . where the 1970s live forever!
George Hendrick hit three consecutive homers and then drove in the winning run with a two-out single in the ninth inning to give the Indians an 8-7 victory over the Tigers. Hendrick's homers, each with the bases empty, came in the first, fourth and sixth innings before he walked in the eighth and singled in the ninth. John Ellis and Charlie Spikes also homered for the Indians, while the Tigers had circuit clouts by Norm Cash and Dick McAuliffe.

In the nirth, Jack Brohamer walked and Frank Duffy sacrificed. After an intentional pass to Buddy Bell, Oscar Gamble flied out, but Hendrick then hit his single to snap the Indians' six-game losing streak. [The Sporting News]
