Ken Brett undoubtedly set a major league record for most homers by a pitcher in consecutive games, hitting his fourth in four straight starts, while hurling the Phillies to a 7-2 victory over the Expos. Mike Schmidt and Willie Montanez hit three-run homers for the Phillies, Schmidt's blow coming in the first inning. Brett connected for the circuit in the seventh and later in that same stanza Montanez rapped his round-tripper. A homer by Terry Humphrey accounted for the Expos' two tallies.
