. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The White Sox scored three runs in the first inning and were able to defeat the Twins, 3-2, thanks to the clutch relief pitching of Cy Acosta. Singles by Pat Kelly and Jorge Orta, a double by Carlos May and single by Rick Reichardt accounted for the White Sox tallies. In the ninth, Terry Forster, pitching in relief for the White Sox, walked George Mitterwald, gave up a single by Larry Hisle and passed both Rod Carew and Jerry Terrell to force in the Twins' first run.

Acosta, taking over, struck out Tony Oliva, but walked Bobby Darwin to force in the Twins' second run. However, Acosta then struck out Dan Monson and retired Joe Lis on a fly to save the game for starter Stan Bahnsen. [The Sporting News]
