The Angels, who were trailing, 5-0, rallied for four runs in the eighth inning and two in the ninth to defeat the Royals, 6-5. Vada Pinson homered with two men on base for the Angels' big blow in the eighth. Mike Epstein singled in the ninth and Richie Scheinblum was safe on an error by Cookie Rojas. Ken Berry singled to score pinch-runner Billy Grabarkewitz. After an intentional pass to John Stephenson, Al Gallagher beat out an infield hit to drive in Leroy Stanton, who ran for Scheinblum.
