Joe Decker struck out 15, the single-game high in the A. L. so far this season, and allowed only four hits in pitching the Twins to a 4-0 victory over the White Sox. Wilbur Wood was the loser, absorbing his fifth straight defeat and seventh in his last eight decisions. The Twins settled matters against Wood right from the start, scoring two runs in the first inning on a double by Jerry Terrell, infield hit by Rod Carew, a throwing error by Ed Herrmann on Carew's theft of second and a sacrifice fly by Bobby Darwin.
