The magic of Fred Norman since joining the Reds was dispelled by the Astros, who knocked out the lefthander in the sixth inning en route to a 10-2 victory. Norman had pitched two straight shutouts and allowed one run in his third game after being acquired from the Padres. Norman gave up two walks and a single by Jerry Reuss for a tally in the fifth before the Astros erupted for five runs in the sixth. Doug Rader and Skip Jutze each hit a two-run double and Reuss added one with a sacrifice fly. [The Sporting News] |
