. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The magic of Fred Norman since joining the Reds was dispelled by the Astros, who knocked out the lefthander in the sixth inning en route to a 10-2 victory. Norman had pitched two straight shutouts and allowed one run in his third game after being acquired from the Padres.

Norman gave up two walks and a single by Jerry Reuss for a tally in the fifth before the Astros erupted for five runs in the sixth. Doug Rader and Skip Jutze each hit a two-run double and Reuss added one with a sacrifice fly. [The Sporting News]
