Rick Monday hit two homers and drove in three runs to power the Cubs to a 4-2 victory in the regularly-scheduled game after the Expos completed play in the previous day's suspended contest with a 5-4 victory in 18 innings. The score was tied 3-3 when darkness halted the June 27 game after 12 innings. Bob Bailey homered for the Expos in the 13th, but Ron Santo, who had tied the score with a homer in the ninth, forced another deadlock with a circuit clout in the Cubs' half. However, in the 18th, Bill Stoneman and Hal Breeden drew walks from Burt Hooton and Bailey singled to drive in the Expos' winning run.

Bailey and Boots Day homered for the Expos' runs in the regular-scheduled game. Monday's second homer after a single by Adrian Garrett broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
