Jim Bibby gained his first A. L victory and did it with a flourish when the Rangers' righthander pitched a one-hitter and defeated the Royals, 3-0. Fran Healy doubled in the sixth inning for the Royals' only safety. Bibby had lost his first two decisions with the Rangers after previously compiling a 1-5 record with the Cardinals.
