Carl Yastrzemski started the fourth inning with a homer and capped a seven-run outburst with a single, leading the Red Sox to a 9-4 victory over the Yankees. After Yastrzemski's homer tied the score at 1-1, singles by Orlando Cepeda, Carlton Fisk and Dwight Evans sent the Red Sox ahead. Following a pass to Luis Aparicio, Rick Miller delivered a two-run single.
