. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Angels breezed to a 10-4 victory in the first game and then won the second game, 5-3, on a two-run homer by Richie Scheinblum in the 10th inning to complete a sweep of a doubleheader with the Indians. Vada Pinson and Bob Oliver homered in the opener, Oliver's blow coming with two men on base, to help escort Bill Singer to his 14th victory. Chris Chambliss homered for the Indians.

In the nightcap, the Indians had a round-tripper by Oscar Gamble and held a 3-2 lead going into the ninth when the Angels tied the score on doubles by Leroy Stanton and Winston Llenas. Mike Epstein then singled in the 10th and Scheinblum followed with his game-winning homer. [The Sporting News]
