Stanton's first two homers, accounting for three runs, and a solo swat by Bob Oliver paced the Angels to an 8-3 lead, but the Orioles rallied to tie the score in the ninth.

A single by Merv Rettenmund, double by Bobby Grich, a balk, double by Paul Blair and single by Tommy Davis kayoed Dave Sells. Dick Lange, relieving, was greeted with a two-run homer by Earl Williams.
