Don Gullett, who has become the new lefthanded ace of the Reds' bullpen, retired the last six batters in the succession after replacing Ross Grimsley, to complete a 6-2 victory over the Expos. This was Gullett's fifth relief appearance since his last start May 28 and in that time he had picked up two victories and two saves.
