A pinch-homer by Rusty Torres with two men on base in the ninth inning capped a comeback by the Indians in a 7-5 victory over the Athletics. Reggie Jackson homered to help the A's build up a 5-0 lead before the Indians rallied for three runs in the eighth.

Charlie Spikes and Chris Chambliss led off the ninth with singles. After Walt Williams flied out, Ron Lolich singled to drive in one run. Torres then batted for John Lowenstein and hit his game-winning homer. [The Sporting News]
