Willie Stargell smashed the 302nd homer of his career with the Pirates, setting the Pittsburgh club record, to mark a 10-2 victory over the Padres. The former club mark of 301 homers was held by Ralph Kiner. Al Oliver also homered for the Pirates, who picked up singletons in each of first five innings before icing their victory with five runs in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
