Rudy May started for the Angels and gave up a single by Ike Brown in the ninth for the 10th hit off his deliveries. After one out, Willie Horton walked and Jim Northrup ran for him. Ed Brinkman forced Northrup for the second out. Mickey Stanley walked on four pitches to load the bases.
