Cookie Rojas smashed a homer, triple and single, accounting for half of the Royals' six hits, in a 4-2 victory over the Yankees. Rojas hit his homer off Doc Medich in the first inning and then singled, moved up on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Ed Kirkpatrick in the fourth. The Royals added their two other runs in the seventh on a double by Lou Piniella, pass to Kurt Bevacqua, a sacrifice, wild pitch and Rojas' triple.
