A double by Rod Carew and triple by Bobby Darwin highlighted a four-run outburst in the eighth inning as the Twins defeated the Red Sox, 6-2. Jim Holt and Larry Hisle started the uprising with singles. Carew's double drove in Holt to break a 2-2 tie. Then, after an intentional pass to Tony Oliva loaded the bases, Darwin iced the Twins' victory with his triple. [The Sporting News]
