Lindy McDaniel was rewarded for his tremendous job of relief pitching when the Yankees scored on a triple by Roy White and single by Ron Blomberg in the eighth inning to defeat the Brewers, 7-6. McDaniel, in relief of Mel Stottlemyre, worked 6 2/3 innings and allowed only two hits and one run. [The Sporting News]
