George Mitterwald continued his torrid run production with three RBIs, giving him 14 in five games, as the Twins defeated the White Sox, 6-5. After the White Sox took a 2-0 lead, the Twins erupted for four runs in the fifth inning, one of them scoring on a grounder by Mitterwald.

Then, in the seventh, after a single by Jerry Terrell and double by Jim Holt put two on base, Mitterwald came through with the key hit, driving in both runners with a double. The White Sox picked up a run in the eighth and made the game close when Bill Sharp hit a pinch-homer with a man on base in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
