Ron Fairly, who entered the game as an unsuccessful pinch-hitter in the seventh inning, remained in the lineup and delivered a two-run single in the eighth to cap a rally that gave the Expos a 6-4 victory over the Mets. Ken Singleton led off the inning with a base hit and was forced by Hal Breeden, who yielded the paths to Larry Lintz. Bob Bailey followed with a double to drive in Lintz and tie the score at 4-4.
