Davey Johnson smashed two homers and Darrell Evans and Mike Lum whacked one apiece among the Braves' 17 hits in a 14-6 victory over the Reds. Johnson connected for the first time in the second inning and Evans added two runs with his blast in the sixth.

The Reds had a two-run homer by Tony Perez in the seventh when they scored three times to take a 6-4 lead, but the Braves struck back for four runs on five singles in their half. Johnson led off the eighth with his second homer of the game and the Braves went on to add five more runs on an error, three singles, a double by Ralph Garr and Lum's round-tripper.
