Two homers by Oscar Gamble and one by Buddy Bell helped power the Indians to a 9-4 victory over the Brewers. Darrell Porter homered with two men on base for the Brewers in the first inning, but the Indians came back to tie the score before breaking away with four runs in the sixth.

Two singles around an infield out produced one run and another scored on an error before Gamble came to the plate and smashed a two-run homer. Bell hit for the circuit in the eighth and Gamble followed with his second round-tripper of the game to wrap up the scoring. [The Sporting News]
