The Expos were trailing, 2-1, when Pepe Frias singled, Boots Day walked and Ron Hunt sacrificed, setting the scene for Fairly's blow that gave Mike Torrez his sixth win in 17 decisions and tagged Burt Hooton with his 10th loss.
