Knocked out in the seventh inning, Reggie Cleveland was stopped on his personal six-game winning streak when the Mets defeated the Cardinals, 10-3. Felix Millan and Rusty Staub opened the stanza with singles and when John Milner doubled on a drive that Bernie Carbo misjudged in right field, Millan crossed the plate to tie the score at 3-3. After an intentional pass to Cleon Jones, Wayne Garrett batted in two runs with a single. The Mets then iced their victory with five runs in the eighth inning. [The Sporting News]
