The Giants were held to only four hits by Steve Rogers, but Bobby Bonds singled in the fourth inning and Willie McCovey followed with a homer to defeat the Expos, 2-1. John Boccabella homered in the fifth for the Expos' run off Ron Bryant. The Expos loaded the bases with two out in the seventh on a double by Rogers and two walks, but Elias Sosa relieved Bryant and struck out Bob Bailey to end the threat. [The Sporting News]
