The man of the moment, Dave May hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning to bring the Brewers a 6-5 victory over the Angels. The Brewers also had a two-run homer by Johnny Briggs in the fifth. Mike Epstein hit for the circuit with two men on base for the Angels in the sixth. Briggs opened the ninth with a single and was forced by Bob Coluccio before May won the game with his round-tripper.
