Willie Stargell walked, doubled and tripled, drove in two runs and scored two as the Pirates stopped the Braves on their six-game winning streak, 5-2. Stargell drew his walk in the second and completed the journey around the bases on a single by Richie Zisk, a wild pitch and sacrifice fly by Dal Maxvill.

Gene Clines singled and scored on Stargell's triple in the third. The Pirates added their three other runs in the fifth on a single by Clines, his theft of second, a single by Al Oliver, Stargell's double and a single by Zisk. Davey Johnson homered for one of the Braves' eight hits off Bob Moose. [The Sporting News]
