A pair of four-run innings carried the Orioles to a 10-6 victory over the Royals. A homer by Earl Williams and triple by Tommy Davis each accounted for two runs in the third. The Orioles, after adding a pair in the sixth on walks and doubles by Bobby Grich and Brooks Robinson, tucked the game away in seventh.

Merv Rettenmund produced one run with a double, Robinson drove in two with a single and Williams batted in the fourth run of the frame with a single. Jim Palmer, who started for the Orioles, was knocked out in the seventh but received credit for his eighth straight victory. [The Sporting News]
