With two out in the 11th inning, Walt Williams singled and scored on a double by Chris Chambliss to give the Indians a 7-6 victory over the Rangers. The Indians bunched five straight hits for three runs in the fourth, but the Rangers picked up a run on a homer by Tom Grieve in the fifth before taking a 5-3 lead in the seventh. The Indians pulled even in the ninth when Tom Ragland walked and Buddy Bell homered.

The Indians then went ahead in the 10th when Charlie Spikes beat out an infield hit, went to second on an error, stole third and scored on a wild throw by catcher Dick Billings, but Alex Johnson prolonged the contest by hitting a homer in the Rangers' half of the 10th. [The Sporting News]
