Fred Kendall opened the rally with a single and gave way on the paths to Dwain Anderson. Dave Winfield singled and both runners moved up an extra base on a bobble by Cleon Jones in left field. Rich Morales hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Anderson. After Ivan Murrell struck out and Jerry Morales drew an intentional pass, Thomas doubled to drive in the winning run. [The Sporting News]
