Designated hitter Tony Oliva drove in six runs with a pair of homers, including the second grand-slam of his major league career, as the Twins overwhelmed the Indians, 14-2. Jerry Terrell started the Twins' slugging with his first major league homer on Dick Bosman's second pitch of the game.

Bobby Darwin batted in another run with a double before the inning ended. The Twins then exploded for nine runs in the second in an outburst that included Oliva's slam and a three-run homer by Steve Brye. Oliva hit his second circuit clout of the game in the fifth, connecting with a man on base. [The Sporting News]
