David Clyde, the Rangers' 18-year-old lefthander, evened his record at 4-4, pitching seven innings to receive credit for an 8-1 victory over the Yankees. The youngster allowed seven hits and walked four, but the Yankees' only run scored in the second inning on a double by Thurman Munson and single by Gene Michael. Jackie Brown pitched the last two frames. The Rangers collected 13 hits, including a two-run homer by Dave Nelson. [The Sporting News]
