Reggie Jackson hit his 30th homer of the season, connecting with two men on base in the first inning, and went over the century mark in RBIs with 101 as the Athletics defeated the Brewers, 6-3. After Jackson's blow, the Brewers came back to tie the score at 3-3, but the A's broke the deadlock in the seventh with two runs on a single by Bill North, double by Bert Campaneris, infield hit by Sal Bando and two walks.
