A triple by Gary Matthews in the 11th inning sent the Giants on their way to a 6-4 victory over the Expos. After hitting his triple, Matthews scored when second baseman Larry Lintz dropped the ball as the middleman on the throw from the outfield. The Giants then made that run earned and added another with three singles and an infield out.

Ron Fairly twice kept the Expos in the game with two homers, tying the score at 3-3 in the eighth inning and 4-4 in the 10th. The Giants' victory was their 11th without a defeat in extra-inning games this season. [The Sporting News]
