Capping a four-run rally, del Unser doubled with the bases loaded and two out in the ninth inning to bring the Phillies a 9-8 victory over the Padres. Cesar Tovar and Denny Doyle opened the Phillies' outburst with singles. After Tovar scored on a wild pitch, Bill Robinson beat out an infield hit with two away and Bob Boone walked to load the bases for Unser, who cleared the sacks with his double. [The Sporting News]
