. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Fred Kendall hit two triples and drove in three runs to lead the Padres' attack on Steve Carlton in an 8-3 victory over the Phillies. After Ivan Murrell homered for the Padres in the second inning, Kendall knocked in two runs with a triple in the third and scored himself on an error. Cito Gaston walked in the fifth and Kendall kayoed Carlton with his second triple. The Padres' catcher also collected a double and single in five trips. Bill Robinson hit a homer for the Phillies.
