The Giants completed a sweep of the three-game series with the Expos by posting a 3-2 victory. Steve Rogers, Expos' rookie righthander, helped beat himself with a throwing error that enabled the Giants to score an unearned run in the first inning. Boots Day knocked in the Expos' two runs to put them ahead, but the Giants tied the score in the sixth with singles by Willie McCovey, Garry Maddox and Chris Speier. Dave Rader singled in the seventh, moved up on a sacrifice by Jim Barr and scored the deciding run on a single by Gary Matthews. [The Sporting News]
