Hitting his third double of the game, Joe Ferguson drove in Willie Davis with the tie-breaking run in the sixth inning to enable the Dodgers to defeat the Mets, 5-4. Doubles by Ferguson and Willie Crawford produced the Dodgers' first run in the fourth. Willie Davis hit a two-run homer in the fifth and another Dodger run followed in the same stanza on Ferguson's second two-bagger and a single by Bill Russell.
