With the help of a wild throw and wild pitch, the Angels scored the tie-breaking run in the ninth inning to defeat the White Sox, 3-2. Ellie Rodriguez drew a pass with one out and advanced to second when catcher Ed Herrmann made a bad throw on a pickoff attempt. Following an infield out by Dave Chalk, Rodriguez took third on a wild pitch by Stan Bahnsen and scored on a single by Mickey Rivers. [The Sporting News]
