A grand slam by Merv Rettenmund highlighted a six-run outburst by the Reds in the seventh inning of a 14-2 victory over the Braves. Pete Rose and Joe Morgan singled and Dan Driessen forced Rose to allow the first run to score before a double by Tony Perez and intentional pass to Johnny Bench set the stage for Rettenmund's homer off Tom House.
