The Rangers, making it a blue day for Vida Blue, scored four runs in the first inning and added four more in the second en route to a 10-3 victory over the Athletics. A walk to Dave Nelson, singles by Toby Harrah and Alex Johnson and homer by Jeff Burroughs accounted for the Rangers' initial burst. Blue was knocked out in the second as the Rangers put together singles by Nelson, Harrah and Johnson, an intentional pass to Burroughs and single by Jim Fregosi. Tom Grieve homered with a man on base for the Rangers' last two runs in the ninth. Gene Tenace hit two homers for the A's. [The Sporting News]
