Mike Torrez, who never had lost to the Giants, beat the San Francisco club for the seventh straight time when the Expos erupted for five runs in the sixth inning to gain an 8-4 victory. Bob Bailey homered for the Expos and Bobby Bonds hit one for the Giants, who had a 4-2 lead going into the sixth.

An error and two walks loaded the bases to start the Expos' rally. Mike Jorgensen drew a pass from Tom Bradley to force in one run and Don Rose, in relief, walked Ron Hunt to send tying the tally across the plate. Tim Foli then singled, driving in two runs to send the Expos ahead. After a single by Willie Davis reloaded the bases, Ken Singleton singled for the fifth run of the inning. [The Sporting News]
