While Mike Caldwell pitched a five-hitter, the Giants uncorked an extra-base attack to defeat the Expos, 8-2. The Expos scored their pair in the third inning, but the Giants swung into action in the fourth with triples by Bobby Bonds and Garry Maddox and a homer by Dave Kingman.
