Tommy McCraw, with just one hit previously this season, drove home four runs with two homers and a pair of doubles as the Angels snapped a five-game losing streak at the Red Sox' expense, 7-2. Bill Singer, after a shaky start, settled down to toss a seven-hitter, stopping Doug Griffin's 15-game hitting streak in the process and dealing the Bosox their sixth defeat in seven games. McCraw homered to tie the score in the second, doubled home a run in the sixth and hit a two-run homer in the seventh to pin the loss on Luis Tiant.
