Willie Crawford singled home two runs in the first, another in the second as L. A. sent 16 batters to the plate in the opening two frames. The Mets chased starter Don Sutton in the fifth on Felix Millan's two-run homer and an RBI single by Rusty Staub after a double by Cleon Jones.
