Frank Tanana yielded only three hits in 8 2/3 innings, but the Angels had to call on two relievers to get the final out in a 2-0 victory over the Orioles. Bob Oliver and Tommy McCraw hit homers to account for the Angels' runs. In the ninth, Bobby Grich drew a walk from Tanana. With two out, Don Baylor singled. After Tanana threw two balls to Brooks Robinson, Dick Selma came in and completed the pass to load the bases. Rudy May then relieved and retired Enos Cabell on a grounder to the mound for the final out.
