Sparking a three-run rally in the fifth inning, Jim Rooker gained his first victory of the season when the Pirates defeated the Braves, 4-3. Dusty Baker of the Braves and Richie Zisk of the Pirates each homered in the second, but the Braves moved ahead, 3-1, before Rooker singled in the fifth and scored on singles by Rennie Stennett and Al Oliver. After Willie Stargell walked for the third straight time, loading the bases, Dave Parker singled to drive in the Pirates' tying and winning runs. [The Sporting News]
