Dave Cash and Bob Boone batted in two runs apiece as the Phillies ganged up on Don Sutton for four runs in the fourth inning and three in the sixth to defeat the Dodgers, 7-3. A safe bunt by Larry Bowa, walk to Greg Luzinski and consecutive RBI singles by Willie Montanez, Bill Robinson, Mike Schmidt and Boone accounted for the Phils' scoring in the fourth. Montanez tripled in the sixth and scored on a single by Boone. After an intentional pass to Schmidt, Cash doubled to drive in the Phillies' final pair.
