After Lou Brock singled and Reggie Smith homered in the first inning, Dave Roberts settled down and pitched the Astros to a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals, extending their winning streak to five games. The Astros wiped out the Cardinals' early lead in the fourth inning. Greg Gross walked, Cedar Cedeno doubled and Bob Watson was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Lee May tied the score with a double and, after an intentional pass to Milt May, Sonny Siebert uncorked a wild pitch, allowing the Astros' deciding run to score. [The Sporting News]
